The TCI 12-Tone Method and 3 Dimensions of Color

Diagram explaining measurable dimensions of color, including hue with a circular color wheel from red to violet, a temperature of hue scale from warm to cool, and a chroma scale from low to high with shades of gray from black to light gray.

Traditional Color Analysis focused only on the four seasons: Winter, Spring, Summer, and Autumn which represent all cool undertones (Winter and Summer) or all warm undertones (Spring and Autumn). We now know that 67% of people actually have neutral undertones: warm-neutral or cool-neutral. The TCI Method takes into account neutral undertones with 8 neutral tones! With 12 different color palettes that have 65+ unique colors we are able to achieve the most accurate results!

These tones represent 12 unique color zones and are distinguished from one another based on the three dimensions of color: hue, value and chroma.

HUE: Are you warm (yellow undertones), cool (blue undertones), warm-neutral (yellow with blue undertones) or cool-neutral (blue with yellow undertones)?

VALUE: Are light, dark, or colors in between best for you?

CHROMA: Do you need colors that are soft and muted, bright and intense, or in between?

During an in person analysis we will be able to accurately place you in the correct color tone! I can’t wait to see what we will discover!
